The KASON CUT-160Z, a PLC-controlled Metallographic Cutting Machine built for laboratory specimen preparation.
What can it cut? It handles chop cutting, intermittent cutting and reciprocating cutting, with continuous or pulse feeding, and accepts workpieces up to φ160 mm in diameter.
How fast? Cutting speed is adjustable from 0.03 to 1 mm/s in 0.01 mm/s steps, and the variable-frequency spindle runs from 500 to 2300 rpm, so feed and blade speed can be matched to material hardness for the fastest effective cut.
How is it controlled? A touch screen displays cutting data, an electronic handwheel gives X, Y and Z manual adjustment with three-speed control, and maximum strokes reach 260 mm (Z), 270 mm (Y) and 255 mm (X). Cutting power is 7.5 kW on 380 V/50 Hz, and overall dimensions are 1580 x 1450 x 1900 mm. Electromechanical separation with a waterproof-isolated cutting chamber protects the spindle motor and simplifies cleaning.
Which standards apply? Specimen preparation follows ASTM E3, the standard guide for preparation of Metallographic specimens, and the machine carries CE and ISO certification.
